When he joined PMA UK in 1988, Hatton brought more than 50 years of experience in the photographic industry to the Association. He started his professional career at Southall Brothers & Barclay, the photographic division of the well-established pharmaceutical organization Sangers, Birmingham. In the 1950s, Hatton was appointed Manager and, subsequently, Director of the Photo Division, then renamed Sangers Photographic Ltd. When Sangers decided to float the photo business on the stock market as a separate entity in the early 1980s, Hatton was appointed Chief Executive and, subsequently, Chairman and Chief Executive of the public company. He headed PMA UK‘s activities from 1988 until his retirement in January 2002 and was instrumental in increasing the association‘s membership base and in developing and implementing a large number of services for UK members. The INTERNATIONAL CONTACT team will always remember Frank as a very good friend, partner and gentleman in the best sense of the word. Our sympathy is with his family.
