Dr. Rolf Hollander rendered outstanding services when, as Chairman of the Board of Management of the Cewe Color Group, he successfully fought off the attempts of American hedge funds to take control of the traditional Oldenburg company. Media titles in 2008 read "Oldenburg triumphs over New York" when Hollander managed not to let the so-called locusts gain power in Oldenburg, with the support of many Cewe Color shareholders with a sense of tradition. The achievements of Dr. Rolf Hollander were also outstanding when he restructured the former photofinishing company to turn it into a modern service company with a completely new range of products. "With ideas and technological innovation Dr. Rolf Hollander realized completely new products, such as the Cewe Photo Book, making his company most successful," said the mayor in reference to the CEO. And Hollander had also successfully accomplished the paradigm shift from a service company without any contact to consumers to a service enterprise for customers, Gerd Schwander continued.
Furthermore, Cewe Color, under the leadership of Dr. Rolf Hollander, was committed to science in Oldenburg. Bursaries for doctoral graduates are awarded by the Heinz Neumüller Foundation. In terms of advanced education, Cewe Color focuses on close cooperation with Carl von Ossietzky University, for example in cooperation agreements for the "InnovationManagement" extra-occupational Masters programme. Cewe Color was also one of the major sponsors when Oldenburg was voted the "2009 City of Science".
