Oce Division President Mal Baboyian named to NPES Board of Directors

NPES is a U.S. trade association representing more than 400 companies that manufacture and distribute equipment, software and supplies used across the workflow of nearly every printing, publishing and converting process. Virtually all industry products and processes are represented by the member companies, which range from under $1 million in annual sales revenue to more than $1 billion. NPES is a co-sponsor of PRINT, PackPrint and GRAPH EXPO – the largest prepress, printing converting, package printing, binding and finishing, mailing and fulfillment, and offset and digital equipment trade show and conference in the Americas.

In December 2003, Baboyian was named president of Oce North America Production Printing Systems (PPS), the largest division of Oce North America. It provides digital document management solutions covering a wide range of environments including the office, central reproduction departments, data centers and commercial printing operations. Mr. Baboyian is responsible for the strategic direction and results of the PPS sales and marketing teams.

Mal Baboyian joined Oce in 1976 as a District Sales Manager for Oce Industries, the predecessor to Oce North America. In 1990, he was named Group Vice President of Design Engineering, now the Wide Format Printing Systems division. In 1998, Mr. Baboyian’s responsibilities expanded to include the Imaging Supplies business unit. He became Chief Executive Officer of Oce-USA, Inc. in 2000, responsible for all business activities for the full line of Wide Format and Display Graphics equipment, software and services and imaging supplies products. Confirming his leadership role in the market, he was recognized with the IRgA Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts in furthering the growth of the industry and the IRgA organization.
