Leica announces record results for fiscal 2010/2011

he Board of Management will propose a dividend of Euro 0.30 per share to the Supervisory Board and the General Meeting. This would be the first dividend paid by the Company since 1997. Alfred Schopf, Chairman of the Board of Management of Leica Camera AG, commented: »”Although not yet vertified, the annual financial statements show that we are on track. We have been able to continuously increase sales since the third quarter of fiscal year 2009/2010. Our thanks go to our employees, whose commitment was instrumental in achieving this positive development.«

The determining factor for the positive development was the continuing strong demand for the Leica M system, the professional S system, the compact cameras and the Leica sport optics products, the company said.

Andreas Lobejäger, CFO of Leica Camera, underlined the positive outlook for the company: ”The financial capabilities of Leica Camera AG are higher than ever before. We are now aiming at the stabilisation of the growth seen in the last one and a half fiscal years. Moreover, we are working to further optimize our supply chain, because the current high order inflow may still lead to delivery delays.”
