Following a prolonged period of very limited face-to-face interaction due to the coronavirus pandemic, many people in the photography and imaging sector are looking forward to joining real-life events again to share news and ideas. During Photopia Hamburg from 23 to 26 September, the new conference ImagingExecutives@Photopia on 24 September will offer a highly welcome platform to top decision-makers in the imaging business.
The event program under the theme of “Vital Opportunities” will feature top executives and independent experts from across the industry discussing the latest opportunities and challenges in the Imaging market. Consumer behaviour has undergone significant change: while the classical photography segment is turning into a market for specialists and professionals, steady advances in smartphone camera technology enable every owner to record professional-quality photos and videos today.
The rapid technology development is not only disrupting the traditional imaging markets, but also enabling new value chains that hold great potential for innovative business models. Photos and videos have long become universal means of communication and expression; at the same time, their traditional function – keeping memories alive – has seen a revival during the pandemic.
In this environment the new industry event ImagingExecutives@Photopia at Photopia Hamburg, organized in cooperation with the trade media imaging+foto-contact and International Contact, will deliver fresh impetus by presenting new concepts and ideas while providing a physical platform for face-to-face interaction between hardware and software suppliers, imaging services, retailers, distributors and other businesses specialising in generating, editing, marketing or producing visual content.
“The photo and imaging sector has repeatedly developed future-looking innovations to translate the disruptive consequences of the digital transformation into new business models,” said Thomas Blömer, Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of imaging+foto-contact and International Contact. “The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated many developments, revealing a number of deficits as well as new opportunities. During the crisis, many consumers have rediscovered the value of memories hidden in their photos and videos, and learned new ways to leverage visual media in digital communication. ImagingExecutives@Photopia provides all market stakeholders with the long-awaited opportunity to share information about new growth concepts in person.“
Tickets for the ImagingExecutives@PHOTOPIA conference will be available online from midth of August at Euro 199 each. The same website will also provide continuous updates on the event programme as well as up-to-date information on hygiene measures due to the pandemic situation.
