HP wins Australian Packaging Evolution Award

In 2007, HP’s packaging design highlights included:

Elimination of PVC from packaging Using biopolymers, (biodegradable materials) made from crops such as sugar beet and corn. Redesigning toner cartridge packaging to use 45 per cent less packaging material by weight. The new packaging also contains more recyclable and recycled content.

The Packaging Evolution Awards acknowledge companies that are National Packaging Covenant signatories and have achieved exceptional results in packaging environmental design and waste management.

Australia’s National Packaging Covenant is designed to minimize the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging and to conserve resources through better design and production processes. It also aims to facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials.
