Telepix Inc. was founded in 1988 and has 30 employees in Toronto and St. John‘s (Canada).
The company, which expects total sales of US-$ 5 million this year, focuses on Internet technology and brings its fully networked solutions for photo retailers, central labs and professional photographers into the Gretag Imaging Group, which can now offer its customers integrated solutions in the areas of hardware, software, photo network and e-commerce. The Telepix product range includes a versatile, e-commerce-enabled Internet Photo Network that directly links to a consumer‘s home PC. The Photo Network is filled by Telepix Software integrated in the minilab or portrait studio.
The software can also be connected to a Telepix Photo Station. The recently agreed strategic alliance with IBM illustrates the success of the e-commerce solution that Telepix has developed in the field of photofinishing. Together with IBM, Telepix is creating an integrated e-business platform for the photographic industry. At a press conference in London, Gretag Imaging‘s
CEO Peter Fitzgerald said he was expecting revenues of US-$ 20 to 30 million for the next year resulting from additional equipment sales and fees for Internet services such as digital photo albums.
