The transaction follows on from sales in recent weeks of Canon printing systems through Océ distribution channels in the United States and Germany. It marks a major milestone in the cross-selling initiatives being undertaken by both companies in the current cooperation phase as they pave the way for full integration in the future.
In March 2010, Canon became the majority shareholder of Océ. Since May 2010, initial steps have been taken in key markets to combine the product portfolio of both companies and provide an integrated offering to their customers. Canon products distributed through Océ channels are being sold under the Canon brand and include their imagePRESS C6000 and C7000 series and the imageRUNNER C5000 through C9000 PRO series. Océ products to be offered through the Canon channels will be sold later this year under the Océ brand and include the Océ VarioPrint® 6000 Ultra range.
