Epson offers support for its P-series Photoviewer range

The new firmware allows images to be captured directly onto the Photoviewer by remotely controlling the firing of the camera shutter up to a distance of seven metres from the camera body. Once a photograph has been taken, the image can be immediately previewed on the Photoviewer’s superior screen. Images are saved to both the camera memory card and the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) of the Photoviewer, bypassing the process of transferring images whilst simultaneously backing up all photos.

The P-series Photoviewers are professional media management tools designed to allow photographers to store and view high-quality images in detail on location and when travelling. The P7000 and P6000 feature high-capacity hard-drives, at 160GB and 80GB respectively, and both products incorporate a large 640×480 Epson Photo Fine Premia LCD screen. The wide gamut covers 94 per cent of the Adobe RGB palette for near perfect colour reproduction.

The new firmware supports tethered shooting with Nikon D90, D300, D700, D3, D3X and Canon 40D, 50D, 5D Mark II, 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III cameras.
