According to a press release, the alliance will leverage Durst’s experience in making quality Rho UV inkjet printers and the characteristics of 3M’s high-performance Premium UV inks and media to provide users with advanced, more exonomical printing solutions based on emerging UV digital printing technology. Allen Jolley, 3M Commercial Graphics Business Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, noted that the two companies are in the final stages of market plan development and testing, and that alliance activities will initially be rolled out in Europe. Additional program and product details regarding the partnership will be announced at the Grafitalia show in May 2006.
