Xeikon targets digital book production in Europe

“Over the past couple of years US customers have been adopting our Xeikon 6000 and 8000 press technology to ensure they stand out in the growing markets of photobooks, technical manuals, educational and art books as well as JIT production,” explains Danny Mertens, Xeikon’s business development manager document printing. “We believe the European market is perfectly poised to make the most of the production capabilities delivered by our solutions which is why we have chosen to support the Forum 2011 de l’impression numerique de livres.”

Sessions throughout the September 21 event will include advice on how to take advantage of the opportunities opened up by digital book production plus essential insight in to the highs and lows from major players in digital book printing. Publishers will talk about the opportunities and challenges they face too. Interquest president Gilles Biscos will focus on key trends and review the evolution and growth of the book market and digital printing.

Mertens adds: “We are very excited by how these markets are growing in Europe and know our responsive solutions offer cost effective and flexible printing options for operations keen to provide a high quality digital book production service. For our Xeikon 6000 the main areas of growth are photobook cover printing, web2print and high quality short runs while the Xeikon 8000 is perfectly suited to technical manuals and educational books because of its ability to produce fine linework and its high printing speed on light paper stocks. This event only highlights the market potential and we are keen to help printers harness the exciting opportunities.”
