Synnex to distribute GE digital cameras in the U.S.

According to a press release, the new camera line will be distributed through Synnex’x Nexce Division and will be available to resellers by next week. “We look forward to a long relationship with Synnex, a well-established company with a loyal customer base of retailers and resellers“, commented Hiroshi Komiya, Chairman and CEO of General Imaging. Gary Palenbaum, Vice President of Product management at Synnex Corporation, stated: “Over the last year, Synnex has built a powerful presence in the consumer electronics market through our branded consumer electronics division, Nexce. We are pleased to add GE’s high quality digital camera product line to the Synnex lineup.”

Even at the entry level, GE’s A730 digital camera offers a resolution of seven megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5" LCD. Higher-level models feature 12 megapixels, up to 12x zoom and a 3" screen. The prices will range from US-$ 129.99 to US-$ 399.99.

Separately, General Imaging and Synnex Canada announced an agreement to distribute GE digital cameras in Canada.
