Combining the proven expertise of the three partners in designing customer interfaces for kiosks, providing internet solutions for ordering, storing and sharing of images, lab workflow software as well as wireless applications linking imaging services with telecommunications, the new company will address the digital imaging needs of business customers with innovative products such as photo kiosks, web photo albums, wireless imaging solutions, MMS storage and printing, internet digital print ordering software, photo CD viewing software, and digital workflow solutions for industrial photo labs.
Ulf Claesson takes up the CEO role at Silverwire, having previously established new business units for IBM and Ericsson. Alan Tawil-Kummerman, previously CEO of FotoWire, Markus Nigrin, formerly CEO of Silverlab, and Bradden Wondra, previously CEO of ShareAPhoto, will form the senior management team.
Venture Partners, the Swiss Technology Fund, is the lead financial investor in Silverwire.
The merged entity will be headquartered in Switzerland and have a significant presence in Passau, Germany, which will be the key centre of engineering excellence and product development.
