For the first half of 2007, CeWe Color recorded a loss of Euro 2.6 million (2006: plus Euro 1.6 million) with a result before taxes of minus Euro 8.7 million (2006: Euro 1.6 million), including restructuring costs of Euro 6.1 million.
In the first six month of 2007, CeWe Color produced 1.233 billion color prints (- 3.4 percent), 604.8 million of them were digital pictures (+ 43.4 percent) and 627.9 million analog photos (-26.5 percent). According to a press release, the growth of digital prints is mainly due to rapidly increasing orders via the Internet and the company’s DigiFoto-Maker order terminals and the strong sales of the CeWe Photo Book. “The growing sales of new digital products are the result of our investments as well as our reseach and marketing activities,” said Dr. Rolf Hollander, CEO of CeWe Color Holding AG. “CeWe Color is on a very good way to successfully manage the change from a pure production company to a digital service provider with high marketing and IT competence“.
