Craig Phillipson of Shopworks will present the latest ideas on shop design, show how to make best use of existing space and where to place products in store for maximum visibility and effect. Craig has a wealth of experience especially in the photo business where he has worked closely with Kodak Express retailers and independent retailers.

10.30 Break and a chance to meet with suppliers and to network with your peers

11.00 Visual Merchandising for profit

Tina Dalzell from Skillsmart Retail will discuss techniques that will allow you to display and merchandise your products to best effect. You will be able to discuss how to link your store layouts and displays to promotions to capture attention. This will be a thought provoking session and include opportunities to comment on real life displays good and bad.

Fellow photo retailers Gary Boxall from Petersfield Photographic, Stephen Lord from Lord’s Photo Digital, Brighouse and Trevor Brown of Colorgrafix in Louth have agreed to show some of their shop layouts and merchandising displays for comment by the delegates and by the experts.

The session will also include information on the Independent’s Day promotion.

Tina brings almost 30 years of retail merchandising experience giving you the opportunity to learn from her experience with retailers, photo and non-photo, about how they display their goods and services with maximum impact.

What is the latest on the ID Photo and Passport photo markets?  This session will update you on the latest discussions with the Passport Service and the Post Office as well as the progress with the MP lobbying campaign
