The September 10-11 boot camp complements the existing PMA 2011 programming to provide the most intense educational event in the photo industry, according to organizers. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring the GoingPro Bootcamp to PMA 2011,” says Skip Cohen, president, Marketing Essentials International. “With the proximity of Photoshop World at the beginning of PMA 2011, coupled with the already impressive PMA programming and events, GoingPro will be the perfect way for aspiring pros and professionals to build their photo business.”
“GoingPro Bootcamp is another outstanding feature of PMA 2011,” says Ted Fox, executive director, PMA. “PMA is partnering with the best minds in the industry to make this convention and trade show experience fun, exciting, and professionally rewarding.” Details are still to be announced, but Cohen says the event will kick off with an evening program Sept. 10, followed by a daylong, comprehensive, business-building event.
“GoingPro Bootcamp is not about photography but how to get your business started and the steps you need to keep it going,” comments Scott Bourne, one of the founders of the GoingPro program. “The response to our first program in the New York/New Jersey area in October was remarkable. “We’re not going to teach photography but help with ideas on marketing, social media, building your client base, pricing, added value, working on your selling skills, and community involvement – just to name a few,” he explains. “We’re going to help people develop that long list of necessities to get established as a professional photographer.”
