"We live in an age where each one of us has the capability to communicate on a global level regardless of where we live, how old we are, or what our beliefs are," Mooney-Kelly said. "Using new tools and devices that technology has made possible, we are able to create and distribute our ideas, books, designs, photographs, music and films globally with ease."
Mooney-Kelly is co-partner of Kelly/Mooney Productions, a visual com munications company based in the New York City metropolitan area. She will discuss her current project, titled "Opening Our Eyes," which chronicles a 99-day around-the-world journey she and her daughter took to make a documentary about people who are making a difference. The film is now in post-production and will be released this summer. A trailer of the film will be shown.
Mooney-Kelly has more than 30 years of experience in still photography, shooting for interna tional magazines and major corporations. In 1999 she began producing and shooting video projects. Since then, her company has become fully integrated with multimedia and video production.
The talk is part of the College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Scholar Series 2011, hosted by the Art & Design, Graphic Communication, and Journalism departments.
