The show is organized by four Japanese trade associations – Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA), The Photo-Sensitized Materials Manufacturers’ Association, Japan Color-photo Finishers’ Association (JCF) and Japan Photo and Video Accessory Association. – and managed by Fuji Sankei Business i. The latter is a member of the Fuji Sankei Group that publishes a daily newspaper covering the economy & business with a circulation of more than 160,000. Fuji Sankei group is the largest media group in Japan and consists of approximately 100 companies including Fuji Television, Japan’s largest TV network, and Sankei Newspaper, a daily newspaper with a circulation exceeding two million copies.
Designed to be one of the largest photo and imaging trade fairs in Asia, PIE 2007, will be staged under the theme “Expanding the pleasures of photography“. A comprehensive program of seminars, symposiums and panel discussions as well as international exibitions of photographs will support the trade show. Next year’s event will represent the third year for this show, which combines the various shows previously organized separately by the individual associations. According to a press release, more than 110,000 visitors are expected from Asia, Europe and the Americas. The organizers expect domestic and international exhibitors to occupy 1,000 booth units and to display both conventional and digital products and services.
