Pentax terminates merger with Hoya

During the extraordinary Board meeting, Fumio Urano resigned from his post as President/CEO of Pentax Corporation. He is succeeded by Takashi Watanuki, who has been with the company since April 1978, most recently as General Manager of Pentax’s Component Business Division. He has been a member of the Board of Directors and Corporate Vice President of Pentax Corporation since June 2004. Katsuo Mori, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pentax Corporation also resigned from his post.
