Production lines are already back in operation and 40 employees of the former workforce have joined the new enterprise. Ole Bjorn Knudsen, who runs the company as managing director, said, the company’s memory bank is also part of the new FotoKnudsen Web AS, so that more than 800,000 registered customers of the “old” FotoKnudsen company can access their more than 500 million pictures stored on the platform.
Separately, several of FotoKnudsen’s retail outlets were acquired by Elitefoto AS, a company that was recently bought by Jotunfjell Partners AS from Fujifilm Sweden AB, a subsidiary of Axel Johnson International AB. According to Hans Kristian Melbuye of Jotunfjell Partners, the company sees opportunities to merge former FotoKnudsen outlets into the Elite system, because many of them operated in regions where Elitefoto is not represented with own shops.
