January 1, 2021, the newly founded OM Digital Solutions Corporation started operations to market the consumer products previously manufactured and distributed by Olympus under the ledership of Shigemi Sugimoto, who was previously responsible for the imaging division of Olympus. With a new organizational structure that is set to efficiently combine management, research and development as well as production and sales, tthe company aims to further develop the product range under famous brands such as OM-D, PEN and Zuiko. According to a press release, the company name OM Digital Solutions is supposed to signal the connection between the legendary OM history and digital solutions.
