Olympus launches four new digital cameras

The Stylus-7010 features a thin body, a wide-angle 7x optical zoom, 12-megapixel resolution, Dual Image Stabilization, AF Tracking, Intelligent Auto, In-Camera Panorama, and in-camera Magic Filters. The lens of the 7010 is the 35mm equivalent of 28-196mm yet retracts to less than an inch thick. The camera is available in dark gray, silver and pink. Other features: 2.7-inch HyperCrystal II LCD and TruePic III Image Processor. The Magic Filters are similar to those found on recently-launched Olympus DSLRs and include: Pop Art, Pin Hole and Fish-Eye. The 7020 also has Shadow Adjustment Technology, which compensates for extreme contrast where the shadow areas are underexposed and lack visible detail.

A new "OR" button (Olympus Recommended) makes it easy to activate Magic Filters, In-Camera Panorama, Shadow Adjustment or Perfect Shot Preview.

Beauty Mode softens shadows and smooths wrinkles or blemishes on the subject’s face before capture. Subtle edits can be made post-capture using the Beauty Fix mode – Clear Skin to smooth a person’s complexion, "Dramatic Eye" to slightly emphasize the eyes, and "Sparkle Eye" to brighten and enhance the contrast of the iris and pupils. Perfect Shot Preview allows users to preview and select various photo effects.

The three new FE series cameras (FE-5020, FE-4000 and FE-46) are scheduled for September availability and features a 12-megapixel sensor, wide-angle zoom lens (5020 and 4000), Auto-Focus Tracking and Creative Magic Filters

The Magic Filters include the ones mentioned for the 7010 plus Wedding, which encloses the foreground in gentle, pastel colors with a soft, elegant focus.

The FE-4000’s lens is the 35mm equivalent of 26-105mm (4X), and the FE-5020’s is 24-120mm equivalent (5X).
