Noritsu Koki to acquire stake in "Doctor Net"

NK Relations was established in April 2009 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Noritsu Koki for the purpose of researching, analyzing and making direct investments in new businesses.

Doctor Net is a remote medical care provider established in February 2002 (after starting operations in January 1995) for the purpose of using medical images to make medical care more efficient and provide information more smoothly, resulting in an efficient medical system for medical institutions, doctors and other people engaged in medicine. Doctor Net, which has been in remote image diagnoses since the dawn of the market, has currently 131 contracted radiology specialists and 199 contracted medical facilities. The company also helps promoting the quick production of digital medical images through “Doctor-PACS”, which is a Doctor Net product.

Noritsu Koki commented that, being a leading company in the field of minilabs and other photo equipment, it sees the fields of medical services, environment and food as new segments of future growth, and we will perform market analysis in these areas looking for opportunities to acquire or invest in companies that enable Noritsu to capitalize on its technology and its global sales and service network. In this respect, the company‘s desire to develop a medical business line and Mr. Sato’s desire to further grow Doctor Net through the expansion of business resources helped providing common ground, and enabled the agreement to be made, Noritsu said, adding that NK Relations plans to acquire the Doctor Net shares from all the other stockholders as well, and thereby make Doctor Net a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.
