Nikon is Official Partner of the 13th FINA World Championships

The FINA World Championships is a prestigious biennial aquatic sports event hosted by FINA, which has 201 member federations. This time more than 2,500 top athletes from over 190 countries and territories will participate in the Championships which feature 65 events in 5 aquatic sports—swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming.

To date, Nikon has sponsored a variety of major international sporting competitions in addition to aquatic sports, including football and track and field competitions. In addition to the assistance our support provides athletes who are continuously challenging their own limits , Nikon believes that sporting events offer great opportunities for capturing stunning photos of truly special and unique moments, which allows us an excellent means for introducing people to the possibilities in imaging expression.

As an Official FINA Partner, the Nikon logo will be included on men’s bibs as well as on poolside signs. In addition, we will be undertaking a variety of promotional activities. Among these, we will be offering support services for which Nikon is known with establishment of service depots where accredited photographers can have their own equipment inspected, cleaned and repaired (emergency repairs), or they can borrow Nikon equipment. This depot will have a number of Nikon products that include the Nikon D3, which supports high-speed continuous shooting of high-resolution images even in dim-lighting conditions whether outdoors or indoors, and a variety of high-performance lenses such as the AF-S VR Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G IF-ED with built-in vibration reduction.

June of this year marks the 50th anniversary since the introduction of the Nikon F mount, the mechanism that forms the link between Nikon SLR cameras and NIKKOR interchangeable lenses. Unchanged in 50 years, the Nikon F mount has been making it possible for professional photographers working on the front lines of all news-worthy events to capture the most historical and moving moments in their photos.
