According to the President of Cosmo Digital Imaging, Tsutsumi, the new company will concentrate on the further development of the Mamiya ZD digital cameras and the Mamiya digital backs. The current series of Mamiya cameras and lenses will be continued.
The new company will take over all trademarks, patents, plant facilities and inventory of Mamiya cameras, lenses and accessories as well as most of the Mamiya camera employees. “We also affirm there will be no change in Mamiya’s business activities including marketing, sales and service,” Tsutsumi pointed out.
The company also announced it will unveil new products at photokina in Cologne, Germany, which will take place from September 26 to October 1, 2006. The transfer of Mamiya-OP’s optical equipment division to the new company is expected to be completed by September 1, 2006.
