"Given the widespread use of Adobe applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator in editorial environments, Méthode has for some time allowed users to open images and graphics from the editorial or pagination environments in both applications, edit them and save them back to the Méthode database – all under workflow control," said Ismail Gazarin, EidosMedia’s CTO.
"We’ve now extended this facility to InDesign and Acrobat, making the Adobe suite an integrated part of the Méthode editorial process."
"The integration allows pages and artwork created with InDesign to be stored in Méthode, and paginated with a simple drag and drop operation," Ismail explained. "The same document can be subsequently opened and edited in InDesign, while remaining part of the Méthode workflow. This enables Méthode publications to include contributions from external or free-lance page designers using the Adobe suite."
Using a similar facility, PDF files can be managed using Méthode, either for further editing via Adobe’s Acrobat Pro or for simple review using Acrobat reader.
