Micro Four Thirds Standard Group extended

Jointly announced by Olympus Imaging Corp. and Panasonic Corporation in 2008, the Micro Four Thirds System standard is now supported by five more companies which will introduce products compliant with the standard.

Blackmagic Design Pty. Ltd. is one of the world’s leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology. JK Imaging Ltd., based in China, is the new representative for Kodak branded cameras and has recently announced the launch of a mirrorless system camera under the name Kodak S1 for the 3rd quarter 2013. Photron Limited is a well known manufacturer of high speed digital imaging systems: SVS-Vistek GmbH develops professional machine vision components and systems, while ViewPlus Inc. is a developer of advanced imaging-related equipment.

According to a press release, the addition of new products from these companies will make the Micro Four Thirds lineup much more diverse.
