“Caption8 is a fun way to share photos,” says Fred H. Lerner, President and CEO. “There are many photo apps, but only Caption8 turns photo sharing into a game to enjoy with friends.”
Players can select a photo, apply style, and then share the new creation with friends. They will receive a notification but will not be able to see the caption until all of the players have responded with a caption. At that point, your friend will be able to page through the response captions and choose a winner – all without knowing whose response is whose.
Caption8 is was designed by veteran web application developer Andrew Christensen, who co-founded an online photo management and sharing startup. After the recent successes with mobile games, he designed a game that could be played with photos and with photo caption memes. The goal was to create a way to engage multiple friends by sharing photos and inspiring creativity.
