As far as the planned IFA Global Markets segment is concerned, the organizers have decided to postpone the event to 2021 due to ongoing travel restrictions, which continue to prevent representatives of companies from Asia to participate in IFA 2020. Pan-Asian suppliers to the consumer and home electronics industry make up the majority of IFA Global Markets participants. In contrast to the other segments of IFA 2020 Special Edition, the plan to bring manufacturers, distributors and retailers together on the sourcing platform for consumer electronics and household appliances in Berlin this year had proven to be unfeasible for companies from the Asian markets. explained Messe Berlin.

“The decision to postpone this event section of IFA 2020 Special Edition to 2021 was not an easy one for us”, said IFA Executive DirectorJens Heithecker. “Especially since almost 600 companies were eager to present themselves in Berlin this year. Yet we have to accept that, with ongoing travel restrictions, for many of our partners it is simply impossible to plan and prepare for this year’s IFA Global Markets.”

All companies that had planned to participate in the IFA 2020 Special Edition and are unable to take part now have the opportunity to present their brands, products and innovations digitally in the IFA Virtual Market Place. The IFA team is also ready to offer alternative solutions for a successful presence to companies that are still planning to participate in the IFA 2020 Special Edition.
