Kennedy was a founder of photo retail operation Snappy Snaps, which began in London in 1983 and became the leading UK photo franchise, with 120 stores nationally. He sold the business in January 2013. Kennedy has been an active supporter of PMA since his early days in the photo business. He has served as a Chairman of the UK Council, the UK TVP and National Chairperson and has also been a Trustee on the PMA Board. In recent years, Kennedy has been working with McNaught and leading industry members to preserve the role of the photographers in the photo ID market. He is a committed entrepreneur, having established several businesses during the last 30+ years. Kennedy studied law and accountancy at Cardiff University, and now sits on the Governing Council of a medical university in London.
