The summit will take place in Nuremberg and is titled “Imaging is your future – let’s do it – explore tomorrow’s imaging world.” In addition to the renowned specialists from GfK, leading sector experts will offer participants interesting insights into current marketing strategies and also report on and discuss the developments that will affect the sector in the coming years. The event will take place in the conference center of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
The specialists from GfK, including Global Director Marion Knoche, will kick off the summit on 30th November by analyzing the market developments of the last 12 months and their relation to the future, under the title “Trends in the imaging markets around the world.” In addition, the “facts and figures experts” from GfK will highlight the international market development in the sector from all perspectives and present the latest sector trends — from today’s growth areas to tomorrow’s profit sources.
Another theme of the 2009 summit will focus on the significance of the Internet for today’s imaging sector, the importance of the role it will play in the future, and what effects it will have on the trade. The first day will end with a communication-focused get-together for the participants at Nuremberg Castle.
On the second day of the Imaging Summit 2009, the Spectaris Technology Forum will focus on state-of-the-art technological developments in the optical industry and the question of where they will lead us.
The extensive program of the Imaging Summit 2009 will be rounded off with an insight into computer-generated imaging, more commonly known as “virtual photography.” Professor Michael Jostmeier of the Design Department at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg, a pioneer in this area of photography, will provide participants with an introduction to this exciting topic and discuss the impact this technology will have on photography in the future.
Representatives of the international trade press have still another good reason to attend the Imaging Summit 2009: The organizers of photokina traditionally use the opening press conference at the Imaging Summit to inform the European trade journalists about the current concept of the coming photokina and to present initial news in connection with the World of Imaging.
