ILFORD announces new additions to its OMNIJET range at Photokina 2006

ILFORD, a major player in the development and manufacture of photo quality media for inkjet printing and photographic processes, announces today three new additions using state of the art technology developed by ILFORD for its wide format media, designed to suit an array of commercial applications.

OMNIJET Instant Dry Backlit Display Film

The OMNIJET Instant Dry Backlit Display Film is a polyester film that has been coated specifically for use in light boxes and other back-lit applications. It is compatible with both aqueous dye and pigment inks and, thanks to its high opacity, offers excellent contrast when the image is not back lit.

OMNIJET Instant Dry Portable Display Film

The OMNIJET Instant Dry Portable Display Films, available in 7mil (190mic) and 12mil (315mic), are polyester-based, matt white films with an instant-dry ink receiving layer. They are compatible with both aqueous dye and pigment inks. The films have a grey opaque backing coat which makes them ideal for pop-up applications due to their tear and scratch-resistant properties. When laminated with a suitable protective film, the display films are ideal for use at exhibitions, trade fairs and points-of-sale. OMNIJET Instant Dry Portable Display Films are suited to both roll-up and frame-supported pop-up displays.

OMNIJET Superior Graphic Matt and Graphic Matt Papers

The range of OMNIJET Superior Graphic Matt and Graphic Matt Papers are high quality, competitively priced coated matt papers that are available in various grades for posters and prints which do not require the heavy ink-loads of photographic prints. The Graphic Matt Range features high dot and line sharpness, quick drying and is smear resistant, while the Superior Graphic Matt Range provides particularly excellent colour and image contrast and is compatible with both dye and pigment inks.

The Graphic Matt Paper range is ideal for artist impressions of future developments, such as real estate plans or interior designs that do not necessitate high ink levels. The Superior Graphic Matt range in addition offers characteristics for printing low cost photographic images for applications such as point of sale graphics. Special features include excellent water resistance, high colour density and compatibility with most inkjet printers.

Commenting on the latest ILFORD OMNIJET additions, Dai Jones, Managing Director of ILFORD, said, "The range has already proved very popular as a value product with production graphic users and we are immensely proud of the technological developments we have made here. The ILFORD OMNIJET range is the result of many months of research in the commercial industry and shows our commitment to innovation", he added.
