Fujifilm to expand production of flat panel display materials

Fujitac is Fujifilm’s protective film for polarizing films used in LCDs, for which the company has greatly expanded its production capacities at its Kyushu manufacturing site.

Fujifilm will concentrate its research on technologies for new products related to larger LCD screens at the flat panel display materials research laboratories located at the Kanagawa Factory Ashigara Site. In order to further shorten the time from Research and Development to Market and Production, the company has made the decision to construct the new plant complete with Research and Development facilities.

The Fujitac materials produced in the new plant will permit the effective production of materials for large LCD televisions of over 40 inches. Construction of the new facility has begun in Dezember 2006, production is scheduled to commence in April 2008.
