The company‘s Information Solutions business recorded a growth of 17 percent in sales, mainly due to strong sales of medical systems, CTP printing plates and materials for flat panel displays.
Fujifilm‘s Imaging Solutions business, including digital cameras, storage media, photo processing services, color paper and color film, achieved sales of Yen 605.4 billion (Euro 4.06 billion) with an operating loss of Yen 42.63 billion (286.1 million), a significant improvement compared with the operating loss of Yen 75.7 billion (Euro 508 million) in the previous year. According to Fujifilm, the decline in sales was mainly due to decreasing demands for color film and digital minilabs and shrinking revenues in the company‘s photofinishing labs. Sales of color paper, on the other hand, were up against last year.
