Durst launched two new options for its Rho 1000 printers

The Smart Speed Option accelerates the Rho 1000 printing speed by over 20% while using the common quality printing modes, from "Productivity" to "High Quality", for instance.

Smart Speed is also fully effective with other colour options such as light colour inks and Process Colour Addition.

The second new option shown at SGIA is the Spot Gloss Option. This feature enables the Rho 1000 to print a combination of both gloss and matt areas within one image. To achieve perfect results some specific abilities must be used in prepress data preparation.

With a prepress programme such as Photoshop or similar, the desired printing file must be separated into two files, one representing the matt printing and the other file representing the gloss mode, by using the appropriate selection tools incorporated in the software. The example shown represents a gloss print of the cherries on a matt background.
