“Six Pixels of Separation” will be the topic of the DIMA Opening Keynote (Feb. 19, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), with speaker Mitch Joel covering all aspects of new media, consumer-generated content, and social media. Joel is a frequent contributor to “CTV National News,” “Canada AM,” “CBC Newsworld,” Marketing Magazine, Strategy, The Globe and Mail, and the National Post. He is a marketing and communications visionary, interactive expert, community leader, blogger and podcaster, and has been named the Most Influential Male in Social Media in Canada.
The closing keynote (Feb. 20, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) is titled “The Art of Vision – Managing Rapid Change,” specifically designed to help companies utilize unconventional wisdom and build a vision for the future. Keynote speaker Eric Wahl is a recognized artist and speaker, who inspires professionals to achieve greater levels of performance. His consulting firm, The Wahl Group, challenges organizations to implement breakthrough thinking techniques to accomplish extraordinary results.
DIMA 2010 is part of the PMA educational event called the All Conference Connection Pass, whereby PMA 2010 attendees will have complete accesses to all sessions in the PMA, Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA), Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA), Professional School Photographers Association (PSPA), and Sports Photographers Association of America (SPAA) conferences. Also included is the choice of DIMA, PSPA, PPFA, and SPAA luncheons; admission to all PMA Official Business Session Keynotes; and admission to DIMA and PMA Welcome Receptions, PMA Get Acquainted Reception, PMA Parting Shot Reception, PPFA Face-to-Face Showcase Reception, and the PPFA 2009 International Framing Competition Reception.
The All Conference Connection Pass is $299 for PMA members and $399 for nonmembers, which includes the attendee’s trade show badge. Attendees can also opt to purchase sessions a la carte instead of the All Conference Connection Pass.
DIMA is also marked by four events, highlighting products and services within the photo imaging industry:
1. DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out, where digital photo printers are compared and trade members can evaluate the printers and media best suiting their operations.
2. DIMA Photo Book Showcase, where attendees can compare various aspects of photo book production, including user interface, templates and binding options, and overall quality.
3. DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out, where the best photo kiosks compete head-to-head for international acclaim.
4. DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards, which is the prestigious honor given to products or services utilizing new technologies and/or applications making the product either distinct or the first of its kind.
