Connect Chemicals acquires former Agfa plant

The plant is the company‘s first European production site and also produces specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients. From the acquisition, the new owners expect to strengthen their position in toll-manufacturing, taking advantage of the plant‘s expert team and the dedicated equipment for the production of classic organic chemistry. The Vaihingen plant is equipped with closed reactors with a volume from 500 l – 3,000 l and semi-closed reactors of up to 7,200 l. The facility is also capable of warehousing, blending and packaging of liquid and solid chemicals.

According to a press release, Connect Chemicals Production & Services GmbH will cooperate with Minilabsysteme R. Saal GmbH/Minilab Factory GmbH of Röttenbach, Germany, under an exclusive agreement related to the sales of Agfa Photo chemistry.

Connect Chemicals is a privately owned, worldwide operating distributor and producer of specialty chemicals with headquarters in Ratingen, Germany, and sales offices in France, the UK, Italy, the U.S., China, India and Russia.
