As part of the initial four-year contract, Canon will collaborate with Accenture’s sales and consulting capabilities and resources to help build Consultancy Services. This new organisation, which will have a dedicated core team and is expected to grow to 500 people, will leverage Canon’s expertise and heritage in information and imaging solutions in business and consumer markets and Accenture’s leading business management consulting services. Other business partners will be involved if required, the company said.
Gary Horsfall, Head of Consultancy Services, Canon Europe, commented: ”One of the biggest challenges faced by European organisations today is the management of their information, imaging and media assets. Through our collaboration with Accenture, we will create a series of propositions delivering customized solutions for large European organisations to manage this challenge. The launch of Consultancy Services is further evidence of Canon’s transition towards a service-led organisation, which is a key strategy in supporting our continued growth in Europe.‛
In order to bring its portfolio to market, Consultancy Services will build a network of companies that are best able to solve specific customer challenges across a broad range of vertical markets. Canon will continue to look at strategic acquisitions of niche suppliers that add value to the overall proposition, and which fit within Canon’s overall business strategy and corporate philosophy.
