Berlin Photo Week in August / September 2021

Berlin Photo Week 2021 is set to give the global imaging industry the opportunity to spark a firework of creativity and innovation. This was announced by Berlin Photo Week GmbH, a new company launched by Messe Berlin, IMH Imaging Media House and the founding team of Berlin Photo Week in order to create the legal basis for the joint implementation and further development of the event format. Wolfgang Heinen, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of IMH Imaging Media House, has taken over the position of CEO of the new company.

With a novel combination of photography, video and art with news and innovations from the imaging industry, the Berlin Photo Week aims to bring creatives, artists, imaging professionals, photo enthusiasts and celebrities as well as media companies, leading brands in the imaging industry and many others together with global brands focusing on imaging and imagery as an important part of their corporate identity.

As a conceptually and economically independent project, the event will be visible and tangible throughout Berlin from one creative location in Germany’s federal capital and a number of event satellites. According to the organizers, many brands and photo professionals have already confirmed their participation. According to a press release, Berlin Photo Week is expecting thousands of on-site participants for the physical event, which is planned for August / September 2021, plus millions of attendees who love pictures and composition taking part through digital channels. The Berlin Photo Week is supported by an advisory board made up of well-known personalities from business, culture and politics as well as by the Senate of the State of Berlin.

Kai Hillebrandt, Managing Director Consumer Electronics Panasonic DACHNL, welcomed the new event concept: “Berlin Photo Week’s creative and innovative concept is very convincing, and as one of the world’s leading imaging companies, we are looking forward to being a partner next year.” The patron of the arts and philanthropist, P.C. Neumann, also embraced the idea: “For me, Berlin Photo Week is more than just an event for photography. The event gives free rein to the imagination and is full of inspiring ideas for the world of photography. Berlin Photo Week is like a passionate visual journey that touches all aspects of life.”

“We are very pleased that Messe Berlin is participating in Berlin Photo Week,” commented Dr. Christian Göke, Chairman of the Management Board of Messe Berlin GmbH. “We are certain that Berlin will help to re-energize the imaging sector worldwide – socially, economically and culturally. We really like the concept for Berlin Photo Week, because it showcases all facets of the world of imaging.“

“With an experienced and enthusiastic Berlin Photo Week team, we will host an inspiring imaging festival next year“, said Wolfgang Heinen, CEO of the new Berlin Photo Week GmbH. ”Together with our many partners, we will make the Power of Imaging a tangible experience with events around the Imaging Experience, Arts & Culture and the Creative City.”
