Under the terms of the contract, Agfa-Gevaert will install minilabs and other imaging equipment in 60 of the PhotoCare outlets. The company will charge a “click” fee for every print made on the MSC 100, 200 or 300 units, which can be expanded with Agfa Digital Print Units and Agfa Pixtasy. The fee covers paper, chemicals and service to handle the waste. Agfa will also buy out existing minilabs from the PhotoCare members.
Separately, the Norwegian/Danish photo chain Japan Photo, owned by the German CeWe Color Group, has recently signed a similar agreement with Agfa for the installation of minilabs in their shops in Norway and Denmark.
