The newly-formed Agfa Europe SA will have total sales of more than Euro 1 billion and employ 25 people.
According to an Agfa press release, the company, based in Mortsel, Belgium, sees the foundation of a distribution center for the European market as an important step to take maximum advantage from the new possibilities generated by the introduction of
the European currency Euro. Piet Cottenie, General Manager Agfa Europe, pointed out that the new European headquarters will lead to more efficient administration, better customer service in the national regions and the development of a uniform European strategy. The foundation of Agfa Europe is part of the previously announced reorganization of the company‘s national distribution channels, which focus on the four regions Europe, NAFTA (USA, Canada, Mexico), Latin America and the Far East.
