The last batch of the Polaroid Spectra films is now on sale.

Polaroid Originals terminates Spectra film

In a message to its customers, Polaroid Originals has announced that the production of the Spectra (formerly Polaroid Image) films ha come to an end. „With three decades behind them, these wide format cameras are now coming to the end of their useful lives”, said Oskar Smolokowski, CEO of Polaroid Originals. „Jamming and frequent breakdowns are now affecting the majority of these cameras, and unfortunately, this is not something we can influence with our film.”

After the last batch was produced, there will be supply for a few months to meet global demand, Smolokowski added. The Polaroid Image cameras were introduced in 1986 and were very popular for decades due to their wide, rectangular image format of 92 x 73 mm and their foldable body. „We continue to focus on the future of analog instant photography through enhancing our core range, and through continued work on our film chemistry”, Smolokowski said.
