Vistaprint chooses photobook.ai solution in Japan

photobook.ai, the Singapore based developer of smart automatic photo-book creation software, has developed and delivered the Vistaprint Photobook app for Japan. According to a press release, Vistaprint’s mobile apps feature AI Visual Intelligence technology from photobook.ai that will automatically suggest books based upon user-behaviors, remove blurred images, documents and duplicates and automatically creates unique photobooks making sure that faces are never cropped.

It also chooses photos to make interesting thematic collages automatically and ensures that the flow and layout of images tell a story, photobook.ai added.

“Japanese consumers are one of the most mobile-savvy in the world”, said Terence Swee, Founder and CEO of photobook.ai. ”They also demand very high-quality products. Together with the Vistaprint Japan team, we have developed a very intuitive application which takes the photos directly from a user’s phone and makes beautiful lay-flat photobooks bound in hard-cover, printed with 6-colour ink technology on HP Indigo presses, fulfilled by Vistaprint facilities in Japan.“

“Photobook companies are trying to out-discount each other to cajole users to make and order photobooks”, Swee continued. ”However, what consumers really need is help with their books. Using state-of-the-art AI computer vision algorithms, we have developed clever and efficient ways to remove all the most tiresome barriers to creating a photobook. We then use carefully designed UI to enable users to personalize and add a little bit of themselves into their books.”
