Jim Hilt will join Shutterfly in late March as President of the company’s Consumer Division.

Shutterfly names Jim Hilt President, Consumer Division

Shutterfly, Inc., the imaging print service provider of Redwood City, CA, USA, has announced the appointment of James Hilt as President of the company’s Consumer Division. The manager, who served in leadership roles at Sears, IBM and SAP Marketing, brings broad retail experience to Shutterfly. Most recently, he was with Express, where led the end-to-end retail business, including brand strategy, stores, ecommerce, creative as well as total customer and brand experience, plus overseeing distribution centers, fulfillment and customer service functions.


Prior to Express, Hilt helped driving the Barnes & Noble digital business to nearly US$1 billion, leading marketing, merchandising, sales and strategy for eBooks in the United States, product experience for all online and device commerce and leading the launch of the European Nook business.

Hilt is a member of the Board of Directors of Hibbett Sporting Goods, a public sporting goods chain, and on the board of trustees of Equitas Health, an LGBT healthcare nonprofit. He is a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.

Jim Hilt will join Shutterfly in late March. The search for a new Chief Executive Officer to succeed Chris North is ongoing.
